Exiles on the Road | MK Dons Away Day Guide

We look to make it three consecutive away league wins when we make the trip to Milton Keynes to take on MK Dons this Saturday.

Stadium MK can be a difficult place to get to from South Wales. Fortunately, we’ve put together this handy MK Dons away day guide to help you plan your day.

Where is Stadium MK?

Stadium MK is located at:

Stadium Way,

Bletchley,

Milton Keynes

MK1 1ST

Where will Newport fans be during the game?

The travelling Amber Army will be situated in the North Upper Stand.

How do I get to Stadium MK?

The following are the easiest ways to get to MK Dons away on Saturday:

Car

Stadium MK is around 130 miles from Rodney Parade. This will take around 2 hours 30- 2 hours 45 to drive, so we recommend leaving early to give yourself plenty of time to get to the stadium.

Train

Getting to MK Dons away on the train from Newport can be quite difficult. Firstly, fans should note that Bletchley Train Station is actually closer to Stadium MK than Milton Keynes Central. Bletchley is approximately a 30-minute walk to the stadium, while Milton Keynes Central can take up to an hour.

A trip to Bletchley will involve two changes, one of which will be on the tube in London. The total journey time will be between three and a half and four hours, depending on the service. To give yourself plenty of time, we would recommend getting the 09:07 train to London Paddington. You will arrive in London at 10:53. From there, you will need to take the Circle Line towards Kings Cross or the Hammersmith and City Line towards Barking and get off at Euston Square.

You can make the short walk from Euston Square to Euston Station and catch the 11:56 to Bletchley, which takes around 35 minutes. You would arrive in Bletchley at 12:31.

If you want to go to Milton Keynes Central, we would recommend leaving no later than 09:59 train. You will need to take the train to Birmingham New Street, arriving at 11:45. There is then a 36-minute wait before you can board the 12:21 to Milton Keynes Central, arriving at 13:15. This would give you time to make it to the stadium.

Coach

Milton Keynes is a difficult away day to get to. Why not just put your feet up and relax by taking one of the coaches arranged by the NCAFC Supporter’s Club

Where to eat and drink locally

Stadium MK is located within a leisure park, which gives players plenty of chances to grab some food and drink before the game. There are more restaurants than pubs, with KFC, McDonalds, and Nandos all next door to the ground.

The stadium itself has a Papa John’s and a Marco Pierre White Steakhouse. Away fans are welcome, but please note that you will not be allowed to wear colours in the latter.

Last time out

Our last encounter with MK Dons was in November this year, with the game ending goalless. It was a game defined by two excellent goalkeeping performances, with Nick Townsend and Craig MacGillivray both on hand to deny brilliant chances. We skimmed the bar in the final 15 minutes, with Will Evans nearly opening the scoring while Townsend denied Alex Gilbey from close range to keep the scores level.
